DESCRIPTION
-Sample size of 10 g is provided.
-The sample has been sterilized.
EXTRACTION PROCEDURE
- Thoroughly mix the sample and extract an accurately weighed portion (approximately 10 grams) of the material using SW846 Method 1311; Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure.
- Prepare the extract for metals analysis by using the appropriate digestion procedure for the analysis technique selected. The sample may be analyzed by any combination of inductively coupled plasma (ICP) and atomic absorption (AA) methods.
DIGESTION PROCEDURE
- Mix well before sampling, no partcile size reduction is necessary. Recommended minimum sampling size is lOg. The sample has been determined to be homogeneous to 5g. Certified results are based on a lOg sample size.
- Prepare the TCLP extracts for metals analysis according to your digestion method. There is sufficient TCLP extract to perform several digestions. The values give on this certificate are based on digested samples. If you do not digest you may not obtain similar results.
- If a sample digestate contains particulates that may clog your instrument, remove them by filtration, or by centrifugation (see appropriate method for guidance).
- Analyze the digestate solutions using the according to your method.
- NOTE: If you do not use USEPA method SW846 1311 as the basis for your analysis, your results may not compare with the certified values. If you have any questions contact us.
